Brisbane speedball has been missing regular competition without the commitment of a full tournament circuit.

That’s exactly what we’ve built at Spec Ops Paintball.

The 3v3 Speedball Social Competition is a one-day event designed for players who want real speedball, with referees on field, proper match structure, and results that actually mean something.

No long season. No ongoing commitment. Just turn up, compete, and walk away with results on the same day.

What to expect

This is organised speedball with a social edge.

Please arrive 30 minutes early for check-in, chronograph, and briefing.

Newer players are welcome, but this is structured, competitive gameplay.

Winning team receives $150 Spec Ops venue credit (shared across the team)

What you need

This is a BYO gear event.

You’ll need:

Paintball marker (must meet FPS/BPS limits)
Approved mask
Hopper and pods

Rules and conduct

The competition runs under a structured ruleset covering eliminations, ammunition limits, player conduct, and safety requirements. Referees are on field at all times, and all decisions are final. Full rules and competition details are available in the Player Handbook.

Team registration

Each season is capped at eight teams. Once the competition is full, registrations close.

If you’ve got a trio, lock in your team early.

FAQ

Do I need a full team to register?

No. You can register solo and we’ll place you into a team.

Can I play if I’ve never played speedball before?

Yes. The league is open to all skill levels, but games are fast and competitive.

Can we bring our own paint?

No. The league uses Reballs only. Traditional paintballs are not permitted.

How are hits called with no paint?

The league operates on an honour system supported by referees. If you feel a hit, you must call it. Referees may also call eliminations they observe. Full details are in the Player Handbook.

Is there an age limit?

Yes. Players must be 15+

What if a player can’t attend a round?

Emergency fill-ins may be approved if a player is sick or unavailable. Team rosters are fixed otherwise.
