WHAT IS GEL BALL?
Gel Ball is a fast tactical combat game played with battery-powered or HPA blasters that fire soft, water-based, biodegradable gel projectiles. These gel balls break apart on contact and don’t leave residue, which makes the activity ideal for indoor arenas without the mess of paintball.

At Spec Ops, Gel Ball isn’t a backyard shoot-around. You’re stepping into a purpose-built indoor tactical arena designed by an ex-Special Forces Commando. Sessions run structured missions, strict FPS checks, and supervised gameplay for players aged 12 and over.

Expect objective-driven scenarios built to reward teamwork, communication, and quick decision-making. It delivers more intensity than laser tag while staying approachable for newer players and younger teens.

Both games run the exact same missions on the same field with the same tactical objectives. The difference is the equipment and projectile.

Gel Ball uses battery-powered or HPA blasters firing hydrated gel projectiles. Water-based, bursts on contact, lighter impact. Minimum age: 12+.

Paintball (Reball®) uses mechanical markers firing reusable rubber balls. Firmer impact profile, traditional paintball feel. Minimum age: 15+.

Same tactical combat. Same movement, teamwork, and objective-driven gameplay. The only variables are the weapon type, the projectile, the impact feel, and who’s old enough to play.

A Gel Ball session runs for about 3 to 3.5 hours, with quick rotations, fast-paced missions, and plenty of time on the field. Check-in, equipment setup, and safety briefings are included in this total time.

Gel Ball is a tactical combat game using battery-powered or HPA blasters that fire hydrated gel projectiles. The gameplay is fast, structured, and mission-based, and runs on our purpose-built indoor arena.

Gel Ball uses water-based gel projectiles that burst on contact and deliver a lighter impact. The missions and field are the same, but the equipment and minimum age differ.

Gel Ball has a noticeable sting but is lighter than paintball. Most players adapt quickly once the game starts.

No. Gel balls are mostly water and break down on impact, leaving minimal residue. No paint, no splatter, no stains.

Yes. All sessions are supervised, FPS limits are enforced, and all players must wear approved protective eyewear.

The minimum age for Gel Ball is 12 years old on the day of play. Players under 18 require a parent or guardian to sign the waiver.

Prescription glasses alone are not permitted. You must wear AS/NZS 1337.1 certified protective eyewear. Suitable options are available to hire.

No. For safety reasons, we do not recommend that pregnant players and players with injuries that limit movement, balance, or reaction time cannot participate in gel ball.

Yes. A staff member trained in basic first aid is present during every session.

Players must not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Impaired players will be removed without refund

We run fast-paced, objective-based missions including team-versus-team scenarios, control-point battles, and dynamic objective games. All missions are fully briefed and supervised.

Hire packages include an SLR Gel Blaster, safety glasses, and unlimited gel balls.

Yes. AEG and HPA blasters are allowed as long as they pass chronograph testing.

For gel balls, we run a simple common-sense rule for weekend sessions: ultra-hard gel balls are not allowed. If you can crush the gel ball between your bare fingers, it’s acceptable. If you can’t, it’s too hard and cannot be used on the field.

The FPS limit is 330 FPS for Friday night sessions, 300 FPS for weekend sessions, and 350 FPS for competitions and speedball formats.
All personal blasters are chronographed on arrival.

Comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes. Flight suits are available for hire if preferred.

Yes, as long as it is securely mounted. We cannot take responsibility for damaged equipment.

Your session will still run as normal because our arena is fully indoors, so rain or storms do not affect gameplay; however, please travel safely, and if severe weather makes travel unsafe, contact us and we will do our best to reschedule your session subject to availability.

We only cancel sessions if extreme weather creates unsafe travel conditions for players or staff, and if this occurs we will contact you directly to arrange a reschedule.

Bookings can be amended or rescheduled with at least 72 hours’ notice, subject to availability, but no refunds or changes are permitted inside 72 hours; full details are available in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

If someone in your group is sick, please contact us as soon as possible. While our standard 72-hour cancellation policy applies, we may be able to assist on a case-by-case basis.

No, our facility is not wheelchair accessible at this stage.

Yes, spectators are welcome to watch the games at no cost, and our viewing area includes live camera feeds of the action on the field.

We have toilets on-site. There are no showers.

Yes, we sell water, soft drinks, sports drinks, chips, chocolates, and a small selection of food for purchase.

We recommend keeping valuables in your vehicle or with a supervising adult. We cannot take responsibility for lost or stolen items.

Private sessions are available on weekdays for groups of 30 or more. You get exclusive use of half the arena and dedicated staff for your session.
